Safety...Safety...Safety! TerraClean
is the leader for safety in our industry. We were the first to
require fall positioning devices on all of our roof top
applications. TerraClean adheres to all O.S.H.A. guidelines and in
many cases surpasses those guidelines.Every TerraClean employee signs a contract for safety the day they become an employee. A specific Fall Safety Protocol is signed and strictly enforced on our projects. Our fall positioning system includes a full body harness, shock lanyard, safety brake, 50 feet of Static Rope and a Roof Anchor. Every TerraClean employee is trained how to use this system and must complete a minimum of 3 months supervised use before achieving the rank of Lead Tech. In
TerraClean also issues every employee is issued a full cover uniform (coveralls), carbon filter masks, face shield, rubber gloves and rubber boots. Though our cleaner is not dangerous the PH of sodium hypocloride, one of the chemicals in our cleaning solution, can cause skin and eye irritation. TerraClean provides the personal safety equipment to help make each workday a safe and enjoyable one for our employees.

some
very specific cases roofs can not be accessed by walking on the
tiles or the roof is too steep or alga covered to walk. Because of
our unique system TerraClean is able to clean much of that roof from
a ladder eliminating the need for our fall positioning system. It is
important to note that this is not TerraClean's regular method of
cleaning roofs and that this method uses allot of extra time and
chemicals requiring extra cleaning charges.
Beyond
that O.S.H.A. guidelines also require that if you have an employee
in the potential of a fall hazard you must have a second worker or
"safety monitor" present on the jobsite following that employee.
This automatically makes every TerraClean cleaning crew a two person
crew. This in some cases makes TerraClean a bit more expensive than
companies that do not follow this law.
